Hatrockhounds 2026 Calendar
January 13 – Rock Jeopardy – Gather your team and prepare to answer with a question just as in the popular Jeopardy Game. Work together to test your collective knowledge.
February 10 – Name That Slab – Test your knowledge about a variety of types of slabs. See how many you can name correctly.
March 10 – Wire Wrapping – Learning with Sandra Bryant. She will show us how to make rings with cabochons. (We will start at 5:00pm to give us time to complete our projects before the business meeting at 6:30.)
April 14 – Sand Art in a Bottle Test your skills at creating a scene or design in a bottle. Fellow members will get to judge who is the most creative.
April 18-19- Lakeside Show - Kennewick
May 8- Annual Show Setup. EOTEC-Potluck for members and Show Dealers
May 9-10 Hatrockhounds Annual Gem and Mineral Show. (No Regular Meeting in May)
June 9 – The Great Mineral Identification Challenge Find out how many minerals you can name correctly as you survey a variety of specimens.
July 14– Stories From Us – “How did I Become a Rockhound?” Willing members will be asked to share what it was that brought them to the hobby of rockhounding.
August 15 (Saturday) - Picnic and Silent Auction – Come relax in the Park. Enjoy a potluck lunch with the main dish supplied by the club. After lunch, try your hand at winning a bid for your favorite rock (There is no regular Tuesday meeting in August.)
September 8 – Show and Tell -Geodes and Birthstones Bring either a geode/thunderegg or something with your birthstone and share a bit about what you brought.
September 5-6 Marcus Whitman Show – Walla Walla
October 13 – Mineral Jeopardy - Be a team player and test your basic mineral knowledge. Have fun teaming up with others to play a mineral version of this popular game show!
October 17-18– Hells Canyon Show – Lewiston
November 10 - "I Did It" Contest - You may enter this contest three times, in three categories: "I Made It", "I Found It" and "I Bought It" within the last year. Prizes
December 8 - Annual Christmas Party - Come enjoy good company, good food and fun times. We generally play "rock BINGO" and have a rock related gift exchange. The Club furnishes a main dish, drinks and all the utensils.
